For decades, the unemployment rate of haiti has been OVER 70 percent. According to recent statistics more than 75 percent of the Haitian population lives on less than $1000 a year. With the cost of public schooling at an estimated $200 per child each year, education is a luxury many children just cannot afford. Without access to even a basic education, Haiti’s children are trapped in a cycle of poverty that has plagued the country for generations. We realize that the most effective way to break this cycle is through education. Malnutrition and illiteracy constitute a major challenge for the survival and development of children in Haiti. There is an extremely urgent need to support, inform, and empower communities in the best nutritional and educational practices and for sustained financial assistance to be given, so that present dire situations may be gradually improved. Lack of education is a major obstacle for many children and young adults in Haiti to overcome. A decent education provides young people with essential skills and qualifications to allow them access to better employment opportunities in their future.
Because for many young children in Haiti, education is simply too expensive or other circumstances prevent them from completing primary and Secondary level of education we have made it our mission to combat this problem and make education more affordable and available for them. We are assisting qualified children with the basic school needs such as tuitions, books, and uniforms starting at the primary level.
